As a coach, my entire job is to change lives!
So when I hear a potential client say “I can't afford it” is that what he or she really means?
I'm telling you NO!
I used to hear this as the truth for years – but now I know better. Why, because I too can be really good at saying “Sorry, I can't afford it.” But see if you can relate to what I really might mean…
“This is not a financial priority for me right now.”
“I could afford it… and I choose not to.”
“I'd rather spend my money elsewhere.”
Here's the thing – if my life depended on paying for coaching to change my body or grow a successful business, I would FIND a WAY to afford it – but I get it, it's scary to invest in you, what if you do and it doesn't pay off?
Next time you're on with a client and you hear “I'm sorry, I can't afford it right now.” Dig deeper and ask them, “Can you really not afford it, or are you worried what will happen if you do spend the money?”
I used to use “I can't afford it” to keep me safe, in my comfort zone, and I thought this way of being was helping my financial situation.
When I finally invested $1,500 a month in coaching, it opened me up to see that all these years, I was just scared and I was playing a safe and small game. I learned that when you invest in coaching, you invest in up-leveling your life.
Heck, when I invested in finally receiving mentoring not only did I grow my business, but I lost weight, my relationship with my husband improved, I became a better business owner and mother. I also have taken what I learned and improved these skills over and over again – growing my business even more!
It's easier to use your get-out-of-jail-free card, but that will never grow you and it has a cost – it will keep you playing small, it will keep you from growing, from being mentored by successful, wise and powerful coaches who are standing where you want to stand – and it's holding your clients back to.
I invite you to eliminate “I can't afford it” from our vocabulary. In the vast majority of cases, it's disempowering and dishonest.
Instead, be honest – “I'm not interested in doing this right now”, “It's not for me”, or “I'm scared to death” or, if you really have something you want to do, think instead “How can I afford it.”
I've had clients use a different payment methods, sell old things they didn't want, or even sell gold. I've had clients take out loans from parents or wealthier family members to get mentored.
Doors are now open. Clearly you can afford a place in the upcoming CORE Business 11 Month Coaching Course. Eleven months of support, of step-by-step guidance, of marketing strategy to build your health and wellness coaching business so you willimpact more lives, have more financial freedom and so you can finally get your business in the direction you want.
Do you want it? Are you ready to choose it? Will you say yes, even if scared shitless?
When I said yes to coaching, I said yes to myself, yes to six figures, and yes to working just 20 – 25 hours a week.
What will you be saying yes to? Email me and let me know that you want to say YES and you can tell me that you're scared. I get it – but I'll be right there to help you walk through it.
