Did you hear that the creator of Grey's Anatomy and Scandal's Shonda Rhimes lost 117 pounds last year during her year of saying YES to more? Good for her!!
In learning more about her transformation, Shonda Rhimes did some very powerful things from fat thinking and living to thin thinking and living.
Here are some great Shonda takeaways for you…
1. She got clear of her WHY. Every client of mine must do this before even working with me. You must get clear of WHY you want to slim down. In Shonda's case, she has three daughters and wanted to stick around for them in a healthier more vital fashion.
2. She ate everything she wanted to. Yep, that's what we say too…as long as your body doesn't react to certain foods negatively, then eat up my friends and really taste your food (it's what the naturally thin do).
3. She ate smaller portions. Now Shonda said she hated this part. Probably because she didn't shift her mindset properly – in listening to your body you will most likely need to shift the quantity of food your eating, like I had to do when slimming down. I just told myself the second I got hungry again, I could eat. This allowed me to listen to my body, push food aside when I was done, and look forward to my next meal.
4. She went from wishing she could lose weight to making a decision to do it! Isn't that powerful? Wishing is so wonderful and I just love dreaming. Yet making the decision to change is a mental shift that makes all the difference in the world.
5. She began to address her emotional eating, but admits she still needs help in this area.
