I’ve created some easy to follow tips to move through the 4th of July with ease, grace and without feeling deprived.
How the Naturally Thin Manage 4th Of July Festivities….
1. Say YES to the FUN.
4th of July is definitely a time of picnics, BBQ's, and Summer parties all focused around meals. The naturally thin say YES to all these wonderful festivities but find other things to do then eat. They expand their fun to include water sports, helping the host, connecting to friends, and play.
I want you to PLAY full out this weekend. Let eating be just a portion of what you do, but don't let it be the main focus. If everyone is swimming – get in the pool. If everyone is playing volleyball – get out there and play too. Expand your fun and play just like the thin.
2. Dress To Impress
The naturally thin take care of themselves and so I want you to dress in clothes that make you feel great. There's nothing like heading to a BBQ and feeling frumpy, lumpy and uncomfortable.
I personally like flowy sun dresses to hide any bumps and lumps and to keep me cool. If I'm not feeling like I'm looking pretty, there's more of a chance my negative self-talk will get in the way and I will turn to food after the event is over.
3. Use the Water-Drink-Water Rule
Many clients share with me that when they drink alcohol it loosens them up and it becomes a time to turn to food.
To avoid this, I recommend the water-drink-water rule.
Start with a glass of water and then move to a glass of wine/beer/hard alcohol (whatever your preference), then go back to water. This will keep you hydrated and not losing control. It will keep your body slimmer, healthier and in the long run, you will be lighter and happier overall because you didn't spin out of control and eat through your pantry.
